Mounjaro Week 2 Recap
It's Friday again and week 2 is down - it went by real quick and today's weigh-in held surprises
The last week in retrospect
Last week didn’t go as planned to be honest: it was damn hot here in Spain, so I didn’t move that much (also due to exorbitant workload) and I made a strategic mistake that shows in the results.
The metrics
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Starting weight | 122 kg |
| Current weight | 117 kg (+/- 0) |
| Measurements | factually unchanged |
Week 2 progress
As you can see, the needle did not move - neither did I lose nor gain weight and the measurements overall stayed pretty much the same.
The upside
What I in fact DID notice (and this is a big one for me nonetheless) is that Mounjaro helped with reducing inflammation. I noticed that I am more flexible (without any training), that my face is not as red all the time and that I feel overall not as sweaty and hot (although in the current heatwave I still sweat a ton).
I am also not as bloated and feeling “stuffed” as before due to eating smaller portions and more small meals spaced out over the day.
The fixes
Here’s what I plan to implement for the coming week to drive the weight down by around 2kg (at least I have to try to somewhat catch up, right? 😉)
- Remove the protein sweet treats from my meal plan mostly
I ate too many of these to up my protein but I think the sugar content is too high so it interferes with fat loss
- Add walking back in
I didn’t do nearly enough steps throughout this week and even though it might become even hotter the next 7 days, I need to squeeze in movement
- Hydrate more
This past week, I had to fight with constipation quite a bit (natural on Mounjaro, see this post ↗) and I need to hydrate more and get more fiber into my meal plan.
What went well
This week my main daily meal was my own meal-preppable “Quinoa Beef” recipe (will post this one of the next days) which tastes good and contains a lot of fiber and good macros. I also got in enough protein every day and since I didn’t lose any centimeters from my measurements it shows that this works for me.
