Mounjaro Week 3 Recap

Week 3 is down - time to again check the numbers, shall we?

Long story short - weight on the scale didn’t go down. But that’s only half the story.

Oh no, no weight loss? Even on Mounjaro?

That were the first thoughts that shot through my head when I stepped off the scale and saw that nothing really changed. But then I took a breather and remembered:

  • I sweat a lot less although this year is way hotter than last year
  • When putting on fresh clothes, I notice that they fit better
  • Last year, I had pretty consistent swelling in my feet due to the heat, this year - nothing
  • My neck and back pain are slowly getting better, which I assume is also in part due to reduced inflammation

The metrics

MetricValue
Starting weight122 kg
Current weight117 kg (+/- 0)
Waist reduction-4 cm (unchanged since week 1)
Dose2.5mg (starter, unchanged)

A plateau - so what?

After losing a whopping 5-6kg in the first two weeks, I hit a plateau. Since I’m on the starter dosage, I just thought “fuck it” and move on, because eventually, “calories in < calories out” will work.

The scale not moving for two weeks straight while still landing well under my calorie target (1,500-1,700 kcal most days) is a bit of a head-scratcher on paper. But between the non-scale wins above and knowing plateaus are just part of how this works (I wrote about that here too), I’m not treating this as a sign anything’s broken.

Took jab #3 on Friday, same as always, no notable side effects. Onwards to week 4.
