Mounjaro Week 4 Recap

Week 4 ✅ - what are the results, and why I'm bumping my dose

Another week down, another plateau experience. But whatever, we’ll move on.

This is going to be a fairly short post since the needle didn’t move - which is a good thing! Why is that? Because with previous attempts at weightloss, it always was a gain by week 2 or 3 already.

The metrics

MetricValue
Starting weight122 kg
Current weight117 kg (+/- 0)
Waist reduction-4 cm (unchanged)
Dose2.5mg → 5mg (as of today)

Same story as last week - weight and measurements are exactly where they were. No gain, no loss. Not thrilled about it, but “no gain” after a full month is still a result most diets can’t claim.

Why the needle isn’t moving

Here’s the part that actually surprised me: this plateau isn’t from slacking. I’ve been sitting at roughly 1,500 kcal a day most of this month, which by the numbers should be a solid deficit. So either my maintenance is lower than I think, or the starter dose has just run its course for me.

Bumping the dose

Today’s jab is also dose #1 at 5mg, stepping up from the 2.5mg starter dose I’ve been on since day one. That’s the standard next rung on the Mounjaro dosing ladder, and my hope is that the higher dose is what finally breaks this plateau - starter doses are meant to get your body used to the drug, not necessarily to be where the bulk of the weight loss happens.

I’ll know more by next week’s weigh-in. If the plateau holds even on 5mg, that’s useful information too - but for now, cautiously optimistic.
