8 Weeks on Mounjaro: 8kg Down, Why I Went Quiet, and Bumping to 7.5mg
8 weeks in, 8kg down. Here's why the blog went quiet, where my nutrition slipped, and why I'm upping my dose to 7.5mg today.
I haven’t posted in a while, so let’s start there. It’s been brutally hot and humid over here in Spain, and I had a ton of work on my plate on top of it. Something had to give, and it was the blog. Not because there was nothing to report - there was plenty, I just didn’t have the hours.
How much weight have I lost after 8 weeks on Mounjaro?
8 weeks in, I’m down 8kg total. Roughly a kilo a week on average, though it hasn’t been a straight line - there’s been at least one plateau in there already, same as I’ve written about before.
The heat and humidity situation
I still sweat a lot, especially in the evenings and at night - the humidity here doesn’t let up even after the sun’s down. But it’s become noticeably more manageable since starting MJ and losing weight. Less body mass generating heat, I assume, plus whatever’s happening metabolically. Either way, it’s better than it was.
Where my nutrition slipped
Full honesty: I strayed a bit. Sugar crept back in, mostly through “sugary protein treats” that I told myself were fine because they had protein in them, plus some plain sweets on top. Vegetables and fiber both took a back seat. Nothing dramatic, just a slow drift away from how I’d been eating in the earlier weeks.
I’m resetting that starting next week - back to a proper plan with more veggies and fiber, less sugar dressed up as a protein snack.
Today’s jab: bumping to 7.5mg
Today’s jab day, and I’m upping my dose to 7.5mg. Up to this point I haven’t had any real side effects worth complaining about - the one exception is constipation, which is manageable and not a dealbreaker at all. Curious to see if the higher dose changes that picture, but I’m not expecting much.
The wins worth mentioning
Two things stood out. First, no swelling in my feet from the heat this year - something I dealt with consistently last year, and it’s just not happening this time around. Second, despite this heatwave being genuinely merciless, I still feel focused and able to get through my daily tasks. Neither of those was guaranteed, and both feel like real wins.
